Kurzbeschreibung |
This is one of the largest surveys of the work of the artist Emily Jacir, known for her reflective works of art that are both extremely personal and acutely political, combining photography, video, performance, and installation-based work. - Emily Jacir is known for her poignant works of art that are as poetic as they are political and biographical, she explores various histories of migration, resistance and exchange. Books, libraries, etymology and the act of translation are also key themes in many of her works. - Omar Kholeif is a writer, curator, editor, and broadcaster. Over the last decade he has curated and/or commissioned more than 100 exhibitions and artists’ works, and authored or edited more than twenty books and catalogues on global modern and contemporary art. He is the former Manilow Senior Curator and Director of Global Initiatives at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and Curator at the Whitechapel Gallery, London. |
